Lauren’s story

Lauren has always believed that to succeed you need to love what you do for a career. Growing up she was involved with her family’s wholesale floral growing business in Elmira, New York. She was exposed to the growing process and enjoyed every aspect of integrating beautiful, natural things into people’s lives.

Venturing to Harrisonburg, Virginia for her college years, she graduated from James Madison University and moved to the Washington, DC Metro area to start her career in the hospitality and event planning industry. She was an Event Planner for Class A buildings throughout the DC area, working with a variety of non-profit associations, government agencies and large corporations.

In 2012, she relocated to the Ithaca area and stayed in the event industry focusing on floral design and weddings. As a Floral Designer, she guided and collaborated with many brides and grooms using her artistic talent to help execute their vision. She worked closely with local wineries, breweries, bed and breakfasts, hotels, colleges and universities to create successful and memorable events. When Lauren is not designing, you can find her hiking the local trails with her yellow Labrador Retriever, or in her vegetable, herb and flower gardens.

In 2022, she decided to take her passion for floral and plant design and make that the main focus of her business, LL Designs.
